Deposits and refunds.
Take a deposit when someone books, and give it back automatically when they cancel in good time. Nobody has to remember to do it in Stripe.
Steps
- In Your clinic, open Connected and press Connect Stripe, so deposits reach your bank.
- Under Diary on the rail, open Treatments, answer We take deposits, then switch on Take a deposit online for each treatment and set the amount.
- In Your clinic, open Cancellations and set Notice needed in hours and the Charge as a percent of the price, which is what clients are told.
- When a client cancels from their own booking link, or with Amy, outside your notice period, the deposit goes back by itself and they are told it can take a few days to appear.
- Check Payments, where each deposit shows in Came in, a refund is tagged Refund, and Held for coming visits shows deposits for appointments still to come.
Questions
What if a client wants to cancel inside my notice period?Their booking link and Amy will not move or cancel it once it is inside the notice period, so the client needs to contact you.
What happens if I have not set a cancellation policy? With no notice period set, a cancelled deposit always goes back, because no policy was ever given to the client.
Does the client hear what happened to their money?Yes. The cancellation email and text say the deposit is back only when the refund has actually gone through.
