Caption your own video.
Drop in a clip of you talking and OS writes out every word, proposes the cut, the opening line and the words on screen. Your footage is never changed: cuts remove time, everything else is drawn on top.
Steps
- Open the reel maker: choose "Reel" at the top of the maker, or tap "Use your own clip" on a reel script in Content.
- Tap "Choose a clip" and pick a video of up to five minutes; OS writes out the words, about a minute for each minute of footage.
- Under "What is this video for", pick its purpose, choose "Talking head" or "Collage", and tap "Plan the edit".
- In "The cut", click a sentence to cut it or bring it back, tap "Open with this" on the line you want first, and select a few words then "Put on screen" to add a caption.
- Watch the preview, which is the film itself, then tap "Render the film" and "Download the film".
Questions
Can a caption end up on the wrong word? No. Every caption is timed from the words themselves, so changing the edit cannot put one on the wrong syllable.
Can it take out my pauses and ums?Yes. Switch on "Close up pauses and filler sounds" in The cut.
My clip will not upload. What now?It needs to be a video under five minutes. If the browser cannot read it, export it as an MP4 and try again.
